Researcher Development
The College is committed to supporting and developing its cohort of postgraduate research students, research staff, independently funded research fellows and academic staff, and recognises the vital role that this group plays in helping to achieve the our research goals. This is demonstrated by the College’s commitment to the principles enunciated in the Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers and the RCUK Research Skills Statement.
All full-time PhD students at Queen Mary are encouraged to take part in two weeks (70 hours) of transferable skills development activities per academic year. This is a formal requirement for the Research Council-funded students. Selection of the appropriate activities and courses should form part of a normal supervisory process.
We offer services for PGRs and all types of research staff to develop in their role and to fulfill the above requirements. Please use the menu on this page to find more details of our services for PhD students and research staff.
