Turnitin Support

Turnitin is a plagiarism detection service which is available to any member of staff at Queen Mary.  It allows you to submit pieces of written work to check for evidence of plagiarism, but it can also help to develop academic writing skills among students.  Departments may encourage (or require) students to submit their work directly to Turnitin to see how their work may be checked.

The E-Learning Unit currently supports the use of Turnitin primarily via the VLE, Blackboard.

If you are interested in using Turnitin independently of the VLE – please contact us via our online Helpdesk to arrange access – login to helpdesk at https://helpdesk.its.qmul.ac.uk and select ‘Turnitin – Plagiarism Detection’ from the Request Type dropdown menu.  Note that also there is comprehensive support provided by Turnitin themselves at:
http://www.submit.ac.uk/en_gb/support-services.

If you are currently using Turnitin or are interested in finding out more, please see our staff support pages.

Students using TurnItIn via the VLE

If you are a student, you will only have access to Turnitin if your lecturer or your department has enabled you to do so.  If you are required to use Turnitin to submit your assignments or produce originality reports – or want to know more about how the system works – please see our student support pages.
