Workshop – Q-Review: Recording your Lecture and Getting it Online

Q-Review LogoELU will shortly be running a workshop – “Q-Review: Recording your Lecture and Getting it Online”. The session is suitable for anyone interested in recording lectures, podcasting and e-learning.

Q-Review is a lecture capture service the Learning Institute are trialling across QM. It uses a software system called Echo360. It will, once it has received a schedule, automatically record, process and distribute links to the recordings to your students. Q-Review is a pilot service to enable staff to record and publish their lectures or presentations. It’s a free-to-use, opt-in service that aims to encourage innovative and flexible teaching methods, and lecturers retain full control over their recordings.

Information about the service can be found here: http://www.learninginstitute.qmul.ac.uk/elearning/services/q-review-lecture-capture/.

An example of it being used by Professor Nicholas O’Shaughnessy in the School of Business and Management can be see here http://tinyurl.com/y5h36o7
In the workshop we will look at how the system is situated in QMUL, consider a few examples of its use, hear some feedback from staff and students, learn how to request a recording and learn some of the more advanced features of Echo360 (like editing).

This session will run from 11:00 – 13:00 on the 11/11/2010 in our E-Learning Studio, FB 3.02, LI, Francis Bancroft Building, Mile End. Members of QM staff can book on this workshop using our online Course Booking System here: https://www.esdcourses.org.uk/userlistcourse.php.
